ISLAMABAD: In view of the deteriorating situation of coronavirus across the country, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) decided to impose special measures for the country’s 24 districts.
The NCOC submitted a report to Prime Minister Imran Khan on the deteriorating situation of coronavirus across the country.
The NCOC report stated that the districts most affected by coronavirus include 15 districts of Punjab and 8 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following which the PM approved a ban on all types of indoor events in the affected districts.
According to the NCOC, intercity transport has been banned in 24 affected districts, as well as restrictions have been imposed on educational institutions and indoor gyms, while restrictions have been imposed in the affected districts from September 4 to 12.
On the direction of NCOC, a notification has been issued to close all public and private educational institutions in Islamabad from September 6 to 11. Instructions were also given to ensure implementation of SOPs in all examinations conducted by the Federal Board of Education.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has reported 57 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,171,578. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 26,035.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 3,787 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
