President asks nation to follow Quaid's ideal on 75th Independence Day

On the occasion of Pakistan's 75th Independence Day, President Dr Arif Alvi asked the nation to follow the ideals of the founder of the nation and work for unity and prosperity of the county.

People celebrated the occasion on Saturday, while special prayers for the safety of the country were held in mosques.

“Let’s pledge to follow the ideals of the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and work for the unity and prosperity of Pakistan,” said the president, in a series of Tweets on the occasion.

He lauded the nation for hard work, sacrifices and support during the 75 years’ journey which has made possible to overcome the challenges Pakistan has faced.

The president also hailed Pakistanis as brave and brilliant, saying their success in various fields made the country a distinguished one.

Alvi in his message also talked about war against terrorism in the country, defeating the menace and hosting millions of Afghan refugees for decades.

The president paid homage to doctors, paramedics, religious leaders, media, the National Command and Operation Centre, security forces and the entire nation for “successfully handling the Covid pandemic”.

Meanwhile, special ceremonies were held in Lahore and Karachi at the mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal where the guards were changed.

The president also attended the main flag hoisting ceremony in the President House as a special guest. He congratulated the nation for completing 74 years of independence.

Google has also changed its doodle on the occasion.
