RAWALPINDI: Chief Of Army Staff (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday said that Pakistan desires to maintain long term & multi-domain enduring relationship with the US.
Army chief said this while talking to United States (US) Charge d’ Affairs to Pakistan, Ms Angela Aggeler, who called on him at GHQ General Qamar Javed Bajwa
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the matters of mutual interest, the current security situation in Afghanistan and bilateral cooperation in various fields were discussed during the meeting.
COAS reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to Afghan Peace Process and will continue to work with all stakeholders for a peaceful settlement.
The US dignitary acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan's continuous support for peace and stability in the region and pledged to further enhance bilateral relations between both countries.
The Army Chief said that Pakistan is committed to the Afghan peace process, adding that Pakistan would continue to work with all parties for a peaceful solution.
Earlier, Army Chief General Qamar Javed, while talking to ambassadors of different countries, made it clear once again that the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan is not in Pakistan's favor, adding that Pakistan's only goal is to help bring peace and stability in Afghanistan.
