Zahir Jaffer’s parents judicial remanded extended by 14 days

A district and session court in Islamabad on Monday extended the judicial remand of the parents of Zahir Jaffer, the prime accused in Noor Mukaddam's murder, by 14 days.

Their two house-hold staffers' remand was also extended for the same period.

Noor, 27, was beheaded in the Jaffer family home in the federal capital on July 20.

Zakir Jaffer and Asmat Adamjee have been in judicial custody since July 27 in Adiala Jail.

In the last hearing related to their post-arrest bail plea on August 4, the lawyers of the two accused maintained that their clients were in Karachi when the incident took place and had no connection with the murder.

However, the court rejected their plea on the grounds that the suspects assisted Zahir in wiping off evidences.
