Sindh government announced on Friday a decision to reapply coronavirus restrictions from Monday in a bid to contain the positivity ration which stands at 10%.
The decision was announced after a Provincial Coronavirus Task Force meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
The provincial health secretary informed the meeting that the positivity ratio of the province has climbed to 10.3%, while Karachi's had crossed 20%.
Health Secretary Kazim Jatoi said their data showed that 85% of patients at Sindh’s hospitals were not vaccinated.
From Mondays, there will be a ban on indoor and outdoor dining, marriage halls and other functions as well as shrines in the province.
Restaurants can continue takeaway and delivery services.
The government said shopping malls and markets will operate from 6am till 6pm while grocery stores, bakeries and pharmacies can remain open. Schools shall remain closed but exams will take place as per schedule.
