PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz rubbished claims that the party was negotiating any deal.
“Why will there be any deal?"she asked. "Are we mad to have a deal with those we are against?”
She was speaking to the media on Tuesday outside the Islamabad High Court where she had come to attend a hearing of her appeal against her conviction in the Avenfield property case.
She said she didn't know when the current government would go but whenever it did, she was sure it would not return.
Answering a host of questions, she said if elections in AJK are free, she was confident the PML-N would win. However, she said the party had proof of rigging in these polls, warning of consequences if the government tried to interfere in the AJK polls.
She also clarified she was campaigning for the elections in AJK while her uncle, opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif was managing the Swat rally where he spoke on Sunday.
When asked if she thought Imran Khan's government was close to recognizing Israel, she felt a no denial meant they were preparing to recognize the Zionist state.
She spoke of the many problems people were facing today, again calling this government inept. "Today the country is facing a crisis of gas and electricity,” she said, adding that her father's government managed to address the loadshedding issue when he was in power.
The IHC has adjourned her appeals till July 15.
