Of late, Pakistan has been seeing a significant decline in the number of new coronavirus cases being reported. Yesterday, 2,455 cases were detected in the country making it the 5th consecutive day when less than 3,000 cases were reported in the country.
According to the Ministry of National Health Services, the latest COVID-19 situation of Pakistan is as follows:
• Total cases reported to date have reached 916,239.
• 55,442 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours out of which 2,455 returned positive.
• Positivity ratio of 4.42% reported in the past 24 hours.
• 13,113,393 Covid-19 tests have been conducted to date.
• Total deaths reported to date have reached at least 20,680.
• Number of Covid-deaths reported in the past 24 hours is 73.
• Active cases currently present in the country are 58,857.
• The number of critically ill patients who are hospitalized currently across Pakistan is 4,083.
• With 2,136 recoveries reported yesterday, the number of patients who have fully recovered from the viral disease has reached 836,702.
Among all the regions of Pakistan, in terms of the total cases reported, Punjab has been hit worst with Sindh being the close second. But it must be noted that Sindh has reported a much higher number of positive cases per capita. Documented tallies of all regions are as follows:
