A delegation of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will attend the dinner being hosted by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif for members of the opposition parties today (Monday), reported local media.

According to the media reports, opposition leader in the Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani, Raja Pervez Ashraf, and Sherry Rehman will represent PPP in the gathering organized by Shehbaz Sharif in honor of the opposition parliamentary leaders.

While explaining the PPP's position, PPP leader Nayyar Hussain Bukhari said that this was an invitation for opposition leaders and not of the Pakistan Democratic Movement alliance.

It is important to note that this will be the first time that PPP and leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will meet after the former announced to part ways with the latter in April after receiving show-cause notice.

The differences between PDM and PPP's stance started to emerge when PPP refused to participate in en-mass resignations from the provincial and national assemblies.

The differences only grew when instead of complying with the PDM's wishes PPP succeeded in the appointment of former premier Yusuf Raza Gillani as the opposition leader in Senate elections in March.
