Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday launched the Policy Advisory Portal during the inaugural session of the Islamabad Security Dialogue conducted by the National Security Division (NSD).
Policy Advisory is a one-of-a-kind portal that has been developed by the National Security Division to engage over 100 think tanks and academia in policymaking.
Prime Minister Imran Khan, while addressing the ceremony, said that it is important to understand that national security is not just confined to defense but extends to food security, climate change, and poverty.
"National security is also about non-traditional issues like climate change and food security which threaten Pakistan and its overall security," the premier said and added that the concept of national security needs to be more comprehensive.
The prime minister said "one of the biggest threats to Pakistan is food security...We will be bringing comprehensive policy changes to address the issue of increasing population and food security."
Khan also touched on the issue of the Afghan peace process and regional stability. He said the key to peace for this region lies in Afghanistan. “Pakistan is committed to doing everything it can to facilitate the Afghan peace process,” the premier said.
