The PTI-led federal government launched a new campaign to encourage people to wear masks to curtail the spread of the coronavirus in Pakistan.
The campaign named #MasksToSustainSuccess aims at encouraging people to wear masks in public and also to urge the nation to keep following SOPs put in place by the government in order to contain the COVID-19.
Federal Planning Minister Asad Umar who also heads the National Command Operation Center - nerve center to synergize and articulate unified national effort against COVID-19, and to implement the decisions of national coordination committee on COVID-19 - took to Twitter to initiate the campaign. He said that the viral cases have gone down in our country but it doesn't mean that we should let go of our hygienic measures.
The minister emphasized that now the need of wearing masks is more than ever as Pakistan has finally lifted the lockdown. He promoted the idea of wearing masks when going in public and also said he will be nominating his three friends to post a short video while wearing a mask.
