ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi feels that India is hurting Pakistan to divert its nation’s attention from their latest defeat through the hands of China in Ladakh.
“We saw how China hammered India and now it wants to shift the spotlight from that incident,” Qureshi said while speaking to a private television channel Tuesday.
The federal minister was referring to the recent face-off between both countries where 20 Indian soldiers were killed.
On Monday morning, four terrorists attacked the Pakistan Stock Exchange building in Karachi. All four were shot dead by the security forces. The banned Balochistan Liberation Army claimed the attack. Qureshi says he is certain that India is behind the latest terror bid as well.
“India’s goals are very clear. It attacks Pakistan whenever the Kashmir issue is raised or when it sees Pakistan gaining economic stability. It wants to destabilise Pakistan in every way,” said Qureshi.
He added that India couldn’t see Pakistan playing the role of a mediator between the US and Afghanistan in the Afghan peace process. Sleeper cells are being activated by the Indian forces in Pakistan, claimed Qureshi.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says the entire nation stands by the armed forces and the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) of the country against terrorism. He said the personnel of our security forces have defeated the menace of terrorism by rendering sacrifices of their lives.
The Minister said whenever Pakistan moves toward stability, the forces that do not want to see stability in Pakistan create disruption. He said we will have to understand the severity of the situation.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said India does not want peace in Afghanistan as peace in Afghanistan will lessen importance of India. He said India wants to divert its people's attention toward Pakistan. He said the opposition should understand the Indian conspiracies.—NNI
