Lucknowi Lentils

Ingredients

  • Toor daal – 1 cup
  • Turmeric – ½ tsp
  • Green chilies (chopped) – 2
  • Heeng – ½ tsp
  • Garlic (Chopped) – 5 to 6
  • Cumin seeds – 1tsp
  • Chilies (Dried Red) – 3
  • Milk – ¾ cup
  • Ghee – 2tbsps
  • Salt as per taste

Method

  1. Boil lentil (dal) with green chilies, turmeric powder, salt and 1.5 cups of water till done.
  2. Once it cooked, transfer it in bottom pan and let it simmer on low flame.
  3. Heat ghee in another pan, add cumin seed, red chilies.
  4. Add heeng and then immediately add into the bubbling daal.
  5. Cover the dal.
  6. After a minute, add milk and let it simmer for 2 miuntes.
