Afghan war couldn't be fought on Pakistani soil: DG ISPR

Director General Inter Services Public Relations Major General Asif Ghafoor says national interest is above all things and steps will be taken in the best national interest.  

In an interview, he said parliamentarians warmly welcomed the Chief of Army Staff and other top military officials.

He said briefing to parliamentarians was held with an aim to apprise them about national security issues.

The DG ISPR said that the Afghan war could not be fought on Pakistan’s soil and we want nothing from the US. He said that our contributions and sacrifices in the war against terrorism and efforts for regional peace should be acknowledged.

Earlier, talking to media outside the Parliament House in Islamabad, he said it is very encouraging to see that all the senators are fully aware about the prevailing security environment in the country.

He said all the senators appreciated the role of Pakistan Army.

The DG ISPR said it was agreed upon that everyone had to play role in tackling the menace of terrorism.
