FAISALABAD - An accident involving a bus and a container vehicle resulted in death of five passengers,whereas 30 others received injuries late Thursday night,near Faisalabad dry port in the area of Chak Jhumra police station.

A police spokesman said here on Friday that a passenger bus (LZR-8276) was on way to Lahore from Faisalabad when it hit a long vehicle (PRL-9617) near Faisalabad dry port.

Rescue 1122 spokesman told media that five passengers including 35-year-old Babar,son of Rafiq,resident of Mannanwala, 15-year-old Samar, son of Gulzar,resident Warburton, 15-year-old Javaid son of Illyas, resident of Warburton,Mohammad Boota (40),Shahid (26) died on the spot.Some 35 others were injured and shifted to DHQ and Allied Hospitals.

The injured included Sulman Younus (20), Ghulam Hussain (50), Asif (52), Ghulam Hussain (50), Lubna Khatoon (25), Nazia Asif (40), Ansar (30), Kausar Abdul Jabbar (47),Gull Raash (25), Muhammad Azeem (25),Sammu (26), Ghulam Muhiyud Din (39),Iqbal (42),Zafar (56), Meraj Din (56),Shehbaz (27), Saleem (40), Akbar (42),Mehmoodul Hasan (40), Amin (21) and others.

Area police started investigation but the bus driver managed to escape from the scene,police spokesman said.-APP
