Rescue 1122 finalises emergency arrangements

Emergency Ambulance, Rescue and Fire Services of Rescue-1122 shall remain operational and on high alert during Eid holidays in all Districts of Punjab to provide emergency cover to the citizens in case of any emergency.

DG Rescue Punjab Brigadier Dr Arshad Zia (retd) presided over a meeting to review the arrangements taken in this regard at Rescue 1122 Headquarters here on Monday.

The Provincial Monitoring Cell briefed the DG that Emergency plans for Eid have been finalised in all districts of the province in close co-ordination with Districts administrations.

"In case of any flash-flooding during Eid holidays, due to monsoon rains, Rescue 1122 shall remain on high alert in all districts for effective response and management of emergencies.

All districts emergency services have made plans for deployment of emergency ambulance, rescue and fire services at important mosques and Eid Gahs.

Rescue mobile posts of emergency paramedics shall also be deployed at important places of mass gatherings to provide emergency cover" PMC assured.

The District Emergency Officers have been directed to organise meetings with local mosque committees and ensure that local volunteers are available in case of any emergency.

Meetings with management of hospitals have also been held for better management of any untoward incident.

The Provincial Monitoring Cell established at Rescue 1122 Headquarters shall remain operational round-the-clock to ensure effective implementation of District Emergency Plans.

District Control Rooms shall also be functional round the clock for provision of effective emergency services to the public and leaves of rescuers have been restricted in this regard.

Special mobile posts shall also be established for providing effective medical cover to the Eid gatherings.

The Director General wished all the citizens a safe Eid and advised the motorists to drive safely with families particularly while leaving or returning from hometowns before, during & after Eid holidays. -Business Recorder
