Unhygienic food causes heart related diseases: Dr Mansur

He said, "Unfortunately adult population above 18 years of age are suffering more from high blood pressure problem and those who are above 50 have same complaints which after 60 years increases 65 percent, adding, such situation of a person can lead to chronic heart diseases, kidney failure, eyes soaring, paralysis, stock , etc.

But, with timely treatment of blood pressure these diseases can be cured and save other organs such as brain, heart, kidney and blood vessel and eyes from its bad effects", he added.

Replying to a question, he said heart related diseases are enormous in kinds as heart plays very vital role in our body and its function is to provide blood to arteries and vessels adds in case of heart attack the parts which provide blood to blood vessels gets dead and their function gets slow and weak, and instead of pumping it stop functioning and never move blood forward which results into a heart attack.

Dr Mansur said, heart related diseases can be hereditary, smoking related, diabetics patients can also be on high risk of heart problems. While suggesting preventive measures, he said men should avoid hypertension as they were more prone to have heart problems than women in our society.

"During a survey of South Asia I had been found that heart related diseases were more common problems in this region as compared to the rest of the world and the reasons behind this were mostly physical inactivity and unhygienic food which leads to central obesity". He said.

He advised to use fresh fruits and vegetables with addition of nuts as they can prove good preventives adds cholesterol free food items should be used which ease out liver to function properly.

Moreover, heart patients should also control their calories percentage, use of refined sugar is also helpful with 15percent of carbohydrates should be added in their daily routine.
