Pak-US ties receive major blow as US ASC approve restriction Bill on Pakistan

WASHINGTON: US Armed Services Committee (ASC) has approved a restriction imposing bill on Pakistan. The bill was approved on Thursday.

As per the Bill, trade with Pakistan would be conditional with respect to the NATO supply issue. Reports indicate that Pak-US trade affiliation may receive a blow if the Bill gets approved in the US Congress.

The Bill further states that compensation with regards to the services and support of the Pakistani government should be halted.

The Bill is expected to be presented within the US Congress next week.

The Bill is expected to have an influential effect on the NATO leadership conference to be held on May 20.  Sources have indicated that the NATO supply, ties with Pakistan and Afghanistan's future would be discussed within the Chicago based conference.
