According to the sources, Students, intellectuals, academicians, activists and media personnel Sunday evening gathered at Karachi Press Club to pay tribute to Bashir Khan Qureshi, deceased president of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM).
They on the occasion called for a transparent enquiry by any reputable institution of the country to ascertain the exact cause of the sudden death of the leader, who was committed to the cause of uplift of the down trodden masses.
Mourners also urged the concerned authorities to ensure that the enquiry report must also be made public without any unnecessary delay and any culprits, if identified, are also brought to book.
Participants of the condolence meeting, among others also included Ali Hasan Chandio of Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party, Ayub Shaikh (known Sindhi writer), Imdad Soomro, Dr. Jaipal of Hindu Council, Aajiz Jamali, Shireen Aijaz Khokhar, Farida Tahir and representatives from civil society organisations.
The leader was particularly remembered for his struggle to bring all inhabitants of the province on a single platform.
Mourners offered fateha for the departed soul and also lighted candles and laid floral wreaths in front of a huge size photograph of late Bashir Khan Qureshi, placed at the site.
