Navy continues relief operations in flood-hit areas

"Relief teams are providing basic provisions and relief goods to affectees and medical teams comprising doctors and para medical staff are giving medical treatment against various diseases,"  said a statement of Pakistan Navy issued here on Sunday.

It said that during last 24 hours, 13715 kgs food ration was distributed in district Badin among the flood affectees which also included the contribution by philanthropists.

The areas covered included Badin, Sanghar, Jhuddo.

The PN medical camps and mobile medical teams are working at full pace. In Jhuddo, 550 persons were treated in medical camp whereas 169 patients were provided medical aid by mobile medical teams, it stated.

Relief teams ferried 150 persons between Jhuddo and Sangi Pharoa through Zulu Boat and also conducted surveys of various areas to ascertain any emergency requirement of evacuation or ration, it added.
