President of Young Doctors Association (YDA), Islamabad Chapter, Dr Sajid Abbasi said that doctors' community was observing strike for acceptance of their demands of pay raise and service structure.

He said the doctors performed duties only in the Emergency Ward of hospital while services remained closed in the out-patient departments, operation theaters and other departments.

He said the authority concerned was not interested in resolving problems of doctors.

The Career Structure of Health Personnel (CSHP) notification was to be implemented from July 1 for those serving in the government institutions and related organizations functioning under the federal government.

But the authority had not fulfilled its promise compelling the young doctors to go for strike, he added.
