According to sources, fire broke out in the basement of a triple-storey plaza in Alipur Farash area of Islamabad due to which other floors also caught fire.
The affected plazas had hardware material that is used for construction purposes including chemicals and plastic.

Two fire brigades reached the scene and started rescue operation. Later more fire tenders were called in to extinguish the wide spread fire and it was brought under control after more than two hours hectic efforts.

The owner of an affected building said that the rescue teams and fire brigade was informed immediately but they reached the spot late, due to which the fire combusted.

According to the sources, the fire incident seems to be intentional rather than accidental.
