Two ships belonging to the United Arab Emirates’ Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) were attacked while passing through the Strait of Hormuz, with no casualties reported, UAE authorities said.

According to the UAE’s official news agency WAM, the vessels came under attack on Thursday evening while transiting the strategic waterway. The situation was brought under control following the incident.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack and stressed the need to protect maritime routes and ensure safe navigation for commercial vessels.

Separately, Yemen’s Houthi movement launched two missile attacks near the Bab al-Mandab Strait, according to Houthi-affiliated Saba news agency, citing local sources.

The incidents around the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab have renewed attention on the security of key maritime routes used by commercial and energy vessels.
