Israel is preparing for the possibility of launching unilateral strikes against Iran even if the current war between Washington and Tehran comes to an end, Israeli media reported.

According to Israel’s Channel 13 on Saturday, Tel Aviv continues to keep the option of conducting military action against Iran without US involvement on the table.

The report said the Israeli military was maintaining preparations for potential unilateral strikes while the United States explores a diplomatic “exit route” from the conflict.

The development comes amid reports of growing concern among senior US officials over the course of the war and the risks of further escalation.

CNN previously reported that US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen Dan Caine had raised concerns with senior officials in recent weeks and was seeking an “exit route” from the conflict.

Caine reportedly argued that continued escalation could create additional risks and that President Donald Trump would find it difficult to achieve his objectives toward Iran through airstrikes alone.

The US general has reportedly held discussions with CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance over the conflict and potential military options.

According to the reports, Caine warned that further military action could trigger a wider escalation while questioning whether airstrikes alone could deliver Washington’s desired outcome in Iran.
