Security forces have killed 32 India-backed militants during separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), multiple intelligence-based operations were carried out overnight between July 28 and 29 in Khyber district, where security forces killed 24 militants.

In a separate operation in Balochistan’s Nushki district, security forces killed eight militants, the ISPR said.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said “comprehensive joint operations” were carried out in various parts of the two provinces, in continuation of action against the “terrorists nexus of India-sponsored Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan”.

The military said the militants’ hideouts were effectively targeted during the operations.

A cache of weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) was recovered from the militants, the ISPR added.

According to the military, all recovered weapons, ammunition and IEDs were subsequently destroyed.

“Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other India-sponsored terrorist found in the area. Relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision ‘Azm-i-Istehkam’ (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the ISPR statement added.
