Earthquake jolts Islamabad, other parts of Pakistan

Earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad and surrounding areas on Wednesday, along with several other parts of the country, sending residents into a panic.

According to the seismological centre, the quake measured 5.3 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 174 kilometres. Its epicentre was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.

Tremors were also felt in Malakand, Swat and Lucky Marwat, as well as in Shangla and Charsadda, triggering fear among residents in the affected areas.

No casualties or damage to property have been reported so far.
