Karachi has reported another mpox case, bringing the city’s total confirmed count to nine, hospital administration said on Saturday.

A 40-year-old resident of Gulistan-e-Johar has tested positive for mpox via PCR test and has been admitted to the isolation ward at NEPA Hospital, according to hospital administration.

Officials said the patient has no travel history, raising concerns about local transmission of the virus.

NEPA Hospital has now recorded seven of the city’s nine confirmed mpox cases.
