Maryam invites AIIB to invest in Punjab development projects

The offer came during a meeting in Lahore with AIIB Chief Investment Officer Konstantin Limitovskiy, where both sides discussed expanding cooperation in infrastructure and development initiatives in Punjab.
During the meeting, CM Maryam briefed the AIIB delegation on key government projects, including the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” housing scheme, electric bus services and e-bike initiatives.
She said more than 100,000 houses had been constructed under the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” programme within a year, adding that the project had also received appreciation at the Baku Urban Forum.
The chief minister said projects such as the Lahore Wastewater and Drainage Management Project, sewerage system upgrades and the Babu Sabu Wastewater Treatment Plant would significantly improve urban infrastructure in the province.
She added that Punjab was prioritising sustainable urban development and modern public service delivery through long-term infrastructure planning.
Separately, CM Maryam issued a special message on the occasion of Hajj, congratulating pilgrims and urging prayers for unity, peace and stability across the Muslim world.
