The International Cricket Council (ICC) has convened an important board meeting in Ahmedabad, India, scheduled for May 30-31.

Sources say the decision is being viewed as another opportunity for India to host a major cricketing event.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has received an invitation to attend the meeting, along with an invitation to watch the IPL final.

However, the final decision regarding the PCB chairman’s travel to India will be made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The ICC meeting is expected to focus on potential changes to the World Test Championship (WTC) format.

Under the current structure, every series must include a minimum of two Test matches.

Sources say the inclusion of Zimbabwe, Ireland, and Afghanistan in the WTC is also under consideration.

According to cricket websites, the International Cricket Council (ICC) will conduct its meetings in two phases this month.

The ICC’s Chief Executive Committee will hold a virtual session on May 21, while the board meeting is scheduled for May 30-31 in Ahmedabad, India.
