Alia Bhatt turns heads in pink gown at Cannes
2 min readAlia Bhatt made a striking second appearance at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, stepping onto the red carpet in a blush pink strapless gown during the opening ceremony and premiere of The Electric Kiss.
The structured corset gown featured sculpted detailing with soft drapes flowing around the arms.
She paired the look with a pink gemstone necklace and matching earrings, while keeping her makeup minimal with nude lips, soft eye makeup and loose waves.
The appearance marked another major moment in Alia’s growing Cannes presence following her debut at the festival in 2025.
Earlier in the day, the actor shared another fashion look inspired by 1950s silhouettes.
Designed by Yash Patil, the outfit featured a sculpted bodice, drop waist and voluminous skirt layered with ombré silk organza and tulle.
The design also included hand-painted artwork by Basuri Chokshi inspired by the French Riviera, featuring lavender fields and coastal landscapes.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India at the festival, Alia questioned Bollywood’s continued focus on male-led box office success.
“When we talk about box office and numbers, there is a conversation that comes up pretty often, which is 75% of the movie-going audience is male, so we need to cater to the masses,” she said.
Alia added that storytelling should matter more than gender when evaluating films.
“So, whether it stars a man or a woman, that should not matter. It is the storytelling that should matter. I’m just hoping we have more of that,” she said.
As a global ambassador for L’Oréal Paris, Alia also appeared in the brand’s Cannes 2026 campaign visuals at Hotel Martinez alongside Viola Davis, Eva Longoria and Helen Mirren.
The campaign visuals triggered debate online after fans questioned the absence of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan from the spotlight imagery, sparking wider discussions on legacy and representation in global beauty campaigns.
