Bangladesh crush Pakistan by 104 runs in Dhaka Test

Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 104 runs in the first Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Tuesday, after dismissing the visitors for 163 while chasing a target of 268.

The win gives the hosts a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

Pakistan’s run chase began poorly, as they lost their first wicket for just 3 runs when Imam-ul-Haq was dismissed for 2.

The second wicket fell at 57, with Azan Awais scoring 15.

Captain Shan Masood was out for 2, while Abdullah Fazal contributed 66 runs before being dismissed at 119.

The middle order struggled as Salman Ali Agha fell for 26 at 121, Saud Shakeel for 15 at 152, and Mohammad Rizwan for 15 at 153.

The lower order did not resist much, with Hasan Ali (1), Nauman Ali (4), and Shaheen Shah Afridi (0) lost their wickets cheaply, folding the innings at 163.

Bangladesh’s bowlers were led by Naheed Rana, who took 5 wickets.

Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam claimed 2 wickets each, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz took 1.

Earlier, Bangladesh had declared their second innings at 240 for nine, setting Pakistan a target of 268 runs after leading by 27 runs in the first innings.
