Pakistan’s passport ranking has dropped to 100th place in the latest May 2026 update of the Henley Passport Index, after earlier improving to 97th place in February this year.

The latest ranking marks a decline from January and February 2026, when Pakistan’s passport climbed from 98th to 97th position with access to 31 and 32 destinations, respectively. In 2025, Pakistan ranked 103rd globally.

According to the updated index, Pakistani passport holders currently have access to 30 destinations through visa-free entry, visa-on-arrival (VOA) or electronic travel authorisation (ETA) systems.

The number of accessible destinations has fallen from 32 in February to 30 in May, reflecting ongoing changes in international visa policies and bilateral travel agreements.

Pakistani citizens can travel visa-free to countries including Barbados, Dominica, Rwanda, The Gambia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vanuatu.

Visa-on-arrival access is available in destinations such as Cambodia, Maldives, Nepal, Samoa and Timor-Leste, while Kenya, Seychelles and Sri Lanka require electronic travel authorisation before departure.

The report noted that Pakistan’s passport mobility continues to fluctuate due to changing global visa rules rather than long-term policy stability.

The Henley Passport Index ranks 199 passports across 227 destinations using data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Singapore, Japan, South Korea and several European countries continue to top the index, offering access to more than 180 destinations worldwide.

Despite the latest drop, Pakistani travellers still retain access to dozens of countries through simplified entry systems, including visa-free travel, VOA and e-visas.
