Pakistan’s economic sector received encouraging news as remittances from overseas Pakistanis rose by 11 per cent on a year-on-year basis in April 2026, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Last month, the country received $3.53 billion in remittances, marking a 7.6 per cent decline compared with March 2026, when inflows totaled $3.83 billion.

Saudi Arabia remained the top source of remittances, sending $841.7 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates with $734.7 million, the United Kingdom at $563.7 million, and the United States with $317.6 million, the SBP reported.

For the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, Pakistan received a total of $33.9 billion in remittances, up from $31.2 billion during the same period last year.

The SBP highlighted that despite a month-on-month dip, the year-on-year increase reflects a continued strong contribution from the Pakistani diaspora to the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
