Karachi sizzles as temperature soars to 41°C, feels like 43°C

Karachi’s temperature has risen to 41°C, with the heat index reaching up to 43°C due to strong hot winds, the Meteorological Department said on Monday.

According to the meteorological department, the weather in the city remains extremely hot as strong hot winds continue to affect conditions.

The humidity in the air has dropped to 7 percent, the Met Office said.

The maximum temperature is likely to reach 43 degrees today.

Citizens have been advised not to leave their homes unnecessarily and to take precautionary measures against heatstroke, including using cold water and drinking as much as possible.

The Met Office said the temperature was recorded at 40.9 degrees Celsius on the previous day.

He added that from tomorrow, the temperature is likely to drop to around 38 degrees celsius.

He further warned that a heatwave is expected in Sindh from may 7, with another spell likely to push temperatures up again in Karachi after may 13.

Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures against the continuing hot weather conditions.
