Pakistan’s first voice-based artificial intelligence platform, “Noor”, was introduced on Tuesday, developed to deal with natural disasters.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam said modern and accessible technology is the need of the hour in view of climate risks.

The special feature of Noor is that it will provide timely information to ordinary mobile phone users without internet, which will directly benefit people living in remote areas.

The project has been launched with the support of the UK’s International Development Agency.
