Punjab extends Section 144, outdoor drone ban for 30 days
1 min readThe Punjab government has extended the enforcement of Section 144 across the province for another 30 days, maintaining a ban on flying drones in open spaces, sources said on Sunday.
According to a spokesperson for the provincial Home Department, the decision has been taken in view of security concerns to ensure public safety, maintain law and order, and protect property.
The restriction will remain in place until May 25.
The statement added that limited use of small drones will be allowed during indoor events at halls and marquees, with organisers responsible for ensuring their safe operation.
The Home Department said intelligence and law enforcement agencies will be exempt from the ban.
Authorities have directed district administrations and police across Punjab to strictly enforce the orders to prevent any untoward incidents.
