Britney Spears is receiving support from her close circle as she takes steps toward recovery following her recent DUI arrest, with her two sons reportedly playing a key role in encouraging her to seek treatment.

According to People magazine, her sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, were a major influence in her decision to enter a treatment facility after the March 4 arrest in Ventura, California, on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Sources said Spears was “very upset and shaken” after the arrest and feared possible jail time, adding that it took weeks for her to agree that rehabilitation was the best option.

Her team has reportedly been urging her to seek treatment since the incident, with ongoing concern about her well-being and stability.

Insiders said her sons have been direct about prioritising her health, with one source stating they “just want her to be healthy” and have remained firm in encouraging her to get help.

Spears’ representative confirmed on April 12 that she had checked into a treatment facility following the arrest, describing the situation as “completely inexcusable” while expressing hope it could mark a turning point.

The statement also noted that her sons are expected to remain closely involved and spend time with her during this period, as part of a longer-term support plan.

Concerns around Spears’ wellbeing have been ongoing since the end of her conservatorship, with fans pointing to changes in her behaviour and social media activity.

Sources said that during the conservatorship, her life was more structured, while greater independence in recent years has coincided with less stability in her day-to-day routine.
