The Sindh government has banned any increase in school transport fares, directing strict enforcement to shield parents from rising costs, officials said on Monday.

The order was issued on the instructions of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

The School Education Department has notified all public and private institutions, warning that violations will result in legal action against transport operators and school administrations.

Officials said the ban applies to all pick-and-drop services, whether operated by schools or private contractors.

Despite rising fuel prices, the chief minister directed that transport charges remain unchanged to prevent additional financial burden on families.

Authorities have also instructed schools to provide complete data on transport services, including vehicle and operator details, to ensure compliance and oversight.

The government said it may extend support to transport operators to help manage operational challenges while maintaining fare stability.
