Iran claims fresh strikes on Israeli, US targets amid escalating regional tensions
2 min readIran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Saturday claimed to have carried out a new wave of large-scale strikes targeting Israeli and US military assets across the region, further intensifying ongoing hostilities.
In a statement, the IRGC said the operation was conducted by its naval and aerospace forces, using advanced missiles including “Haj Qassem”, “Khaiber Shikan” and “Qadr”.
According to the claim, targets included Israeli assets such as Ben Gurion Airport, naval vessels and multiple locations in Tel Aviv and other cities.
The IRGC said key airport infrastructure, including control towers, navigation systems and radar installations, was struck in drone attacks.
The group also claimed to have targeted US military positions and defence systems in Gulf countries, including HIMARS rocket systems in Kuwait, Patriot missile batteries in Bahrain, and facilities linked to US personnel and systems in the United Arab Emirates.
Iranian media further reported strikes on several Israeli cities, including Bnei Brak, Petah Tikva, Ramat Gan and Kiryat Shmona, using multi-warhead missiles.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence said eight ballistic missiles and 19 drones entered its airspace over the past 24 hours, all of which were intercepted, with no casualties or damage reported.
In Bahrain, a commercial vessel docked at Khalifa bin Salman Port was reportedly hit. Iranian sources claimed the ship was Israeli-owned, though sailing under a third country’s flag.
Israel’s military issued multiple alerts within two hours, warning of incoming Iranian missiles and placing the country on high alert. However, it has not immediately confirmed the specific claims made by the IRGC.
Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes were reported in southern Lebanon, targeting areas including Kafardounine, Bint Jbeil and Burj Qalawiya, as well as the town of Siddiqine in the Tyre district.
Hezbollah also claimed attacks on Israeli military positions and troop concentrations, including a site described as the administrative headquarters of the Golani Brigade near Acre.
Additional drone strikes were reported near Israeli positions in the occupied Kfarchouba hills.
