Infiltration attempt at Pak-Afghan border in Chaman foiled
1 min readThe security forces have foiled an infiltration attempt by Fitna Al Khawarij militants at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Chaman sector, security sources said on Sunday.
According to the sources, troops intercepted a group of three to four militants attempting to cross into Pakistan from the Afghan side near the border fence.
During the operation, security forces engaged the group in an exchange of fire, killing one militant while others fled the scene in an injured condition.
The militants were reportedly trying to cut through the border fence when they were effectively targeted by Pakistani forces.
Security officials said that four to five improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and tools used for cutting the fence were recovered from the militants.
The swift and coordinated action by the Pakistan Army thwarted the militants’ plan, the sources added.
Security forces continue to conduct operations along the border to safeguard the fence and prevent infiltration attempts.
