UAE and Bahrain hit by explosions amid Iran’s Gulf retaliation
1 min readExplosions were heard in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain on Saturday, a week into Iran’s retaliatory attacks on targets across the Gulf region, reports said on Saturday.
Two blasts were heard in Dubai, while another explosion was reported in Manama, the capital of Bahrain.
Warning sirens were also sounded in the Bahraini capital.
“Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place,” Bahrain’s Interior Ministry said in a post on X.
Authorities in Dubai later said a minor incident caused by debris from a successful interception had been contained and that no injuries were reported, according to the Dubai Media Office.
Officials also denied social media reports claiming that any incident had occurred at Dubai International Airport.
