Trump warns Iran of ‘harder than ever’ strike if retaliation occurs
2 min readUS President Donald Trump on Sunday issued a stark warning to Iran, saying the US will strike “harder than ever before” if Tehran retaliates.
On his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Iran has just stated that they are going to make a very big attack today, the likes of which they have never made before.”
He added: “It would be very bad for them to do that, because if they do, we will strike them with a power the likes of which they have never seen before!”
Earlier, Trump said that following the US and Israeli strikes on Iran, reaching a diplomatic solution has become easier than before.
Speaking to CBS News, Trump said negotiations with Iran are now far more feasible.
“The situation today is clearly different from yesterday, as Iran has suffered severe damage,” he said.
“Under these circumstances, the US is in a stronger position and hopes a diplomatic path can be found.”
Trump also noted that Iran’s retaliatory response had been less intense than expected.
“Iran targeted Israel and US bases in the region, but the reaction was not as severe as we anticipated. We expected the attacks to be double, but that did not happen,” he said.
The president further claimed that he knows who is currently issuing orders in Iran following Khamenei’s death.
He added that while he is aware of the individuals effectively leading the country, he declined to reveal their names.
When asked whether the current leadership in Iran aligns with the type of leadership he would like to see in the country, Trump said: “Yes, I believe so. There are some good candidates.”
