Customs officials seized 30 kilograms of silver at the Torkham in Khyber District during a major operation on Sunday, arresting one suspect, authorities said.

According to customs officials, the silver — valued at around Rs48 million — was carefully hidden inside the tyres of a truck arriving in Pakistan from Afghanistan.

The recovery was made during a search conducted based on a tip-off.

Officials said a case has been registered under the Customs Act, and further investigations are in progress.
