Maryam says ‘Nigehban Dastarkhwan’ programme reflects spirit of Ramazan
1 min readUnder the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the “Nigehban Dastarkhwan” programme continued across the province for a third consecutive day, serving thousands of people including women and children.
More than 500 locations set up large communal Iftar arrangements on major roads and public spaces, offering beverages and quality meal boxes with the support of philanthropists and institutions.
The chief minister said those who expand their tables for others deserve appreciation and termed the display of Islamic brotherhood during Ramadan a welcome development.
In her message on International Mother Language Day, she said mother tongues form the foundation of national identity, culture and heritage, and reaffirmed the Punjab government’s commitment to their promotion.
Separately, condemning an attack on a security forces convoy in Bannu, she reiterated resolve against terrorism, praised the forces for a successful response and paid tribute to the sacrifices of Lt Col Shehzada Gul Faraz and Sepoy Karamat Shah.
