1 min readThe Punjab Traffic Police have introduced a new modern uniform, which will be worn by all officers and personnel from February 24.
Body cameras will be installed with the new uniform, and eco-friendly electric vehicles have also been provided.
The uniform has been designed to enhance the appearance of personnel while ensuring comfort and protection during duty in different weather conditions.
Prominent colours and light reflectors have been added to ensure clear identification.
Officials say the new design will help strengthen the soft image of the traffic police.
The uniform consists of a white shirt and dark blue trousers.
Traffic officers and field personnel will wear a peak cap, while office staff will wear a beret cap.
During summer, field officers will use reflector jackets, while in winter they will wear dark blue sweaters.
Office-based personnel will wear pant coats and ties.
The uniform for female traffic police officers is similar, with a slightly different hat design.
A lady traffic officer termed the step taken by the Chief Minister as positive.
The newly introduced eco-friendly electric vehicles are equipped with CCTV cameras and a screen installed in front of the driver.
Members of the public have described the move as a sign of positive change.
