Pakistan Navy ship Khaibar joins Turkish drills during maiden voyage
1 min readThe newly commissioned Pakistan Navy Ship Khaibar, on its maiden voyage from Turkiye to Pakistan, visited Aksaz Naval Base in Turkiye and took part in bilateral naval drills and joint exercises with the Turkish Navy on Friday, according to ISPR.
During the visit to Aksaz, the Commanding Officer of PNS Khaibar met the Turkish Southern Sea Area Commander to discuss strengthening bilateral naval cooperation and advancing regional stability through joint initiatives.
The Southern Sea Area Commander and Commander Aksaz Naval Base, along with other Turkish Naval Forces officers, later visited PNS Khaibar.
Following the port visit, PNS Khaibar participated in the Pakistan Navy-Turkish Navy bilateral Exercise Turgutreis-XIII alongside Turkish Navy ship TCG Heybeliada and a Turkish Navy SH-70 helicopter.
The exercise included a range of sea manoeuvres aimed at rehearsing joint maritime operations and improving interoperability.
Upon completion of the exercise, PNS Khaibar and TCG Heybeliada conducted a coordinated patrol in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.
The military described the successful conduct of Exercise Turgutreis-XIII and the coordinated patrol as a reflection of the strategic partnership and close ties between Pakistan and Turkiye.
