A two-year-old boy died after falling into an open drain while playing outside his home on Abdullah Road in Kamoke, officials said on Saturday.

According to residents, the child, identified as Ismail, was playing outside when he accidentally slipped into the drain. Family members and area residents launched a search after he went missing.

After a brief search operation, the child’s body was recovered from the drain. Rescue teams shifted the body and completed necessary legal formalities before handing it over to the family.

Police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities said further inquiries were underway to determine the circumstances leading to the tragedy.
