PM Shehbaz Sharif, President Pezeshkian discuss regional peace
1 min readPrime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has contacted Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian over the phone on Thursday amid ongoing tensions between Iran and the US and regional stability.
PM stressed the importance of sustained dialogue and diplomatic exchanges for promoting peace, security and development in the region.
According to the statement, the two leaders highlighted the close and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran, which are linked to common history, culture and faith.
They reiterated their commitment to maintain high-level contacts and consultations through bilateral institutional mechanisms to further strengthen cooperation within the framework of bilateral relations.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar also spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
During the discussion, the deputy prime minister expressed concern over the evolving regional situation and underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remained the only viable way forward.
