Former cricketer Abdul Qadir’s son arrested for alleged sexual assault
Salman Qadir, son of former cricketer Abdul Qadir, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a domestic worker, police said on Sunday.
An FIR was registered at Barki Police Station following a complaint filed by the 21-year-old victim.
Salman Qadir was taken into custody under allegations of sexual assault.
According to police, the victim told authorities that Salman Qadir had called her on the phone, asking her to come to work earlier than usual.
When she arrived at the main gate of a private housing society, the suspect allegedly forced her into his car and took her to his farmhouse, where the assault reportedly occurred.
SP Cantt Ikhlaqullah Tarar said the FIR was lodged after completing all legal formalities based on the victim’s statement and that further investigation is underway.
Authorities confirmed that the victim is receiving medical examinations and legal assistance, while all aspects of the case are being thoroughly reviewed.
The suspect will be presented in court once the investigation is complete.
Salman Qadir is a former first-class cricketer and the son of well-known former national cricketer Abdul Qadir.
