President Zardari summons joint session of parliament on Friday
President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned a joint session of the National Assembly and Senate tomorrow (Friday) on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to sources, the session will focus on important legislation, with the Ministry of Law and the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs completing all arrangements.
Federal Minister Tariq Fazal has been assigned the responsibility of ensuring a quorum in the house.
The sources said that 18 private and 11 government bills will be presented.
The 24 bills previously returned without presidential approval will also be included.
The agenda includes the Journalists Protection Bill, the Domestic Violence Bill, bills related to various public and private universities, and amendments to the National Commission for Human Rights.
The session is expected to feature the passage of important and sensitive legislation.
