One militant was killed, and two others were injured in an intelligence-based operation conducted by police and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Kalachi and the surrounding areas of DI Khan.

The operation was carried out based on information about the presence of militants affiliated with the Fitna Al Khwarij terrorist group.

According to police sources, as officers approached the area, the militants opened fire. Police returned fire, and in the ensuing encounter, one militant was killed while two others sustained injuries.

A police officer was also slightly injured in the firing.

Authorities said the slain militant had been involved in attacks on police and in targeted killings in the area.

A large cache of weapons, ammunition, hand grenades, and a motorcycle was recovered from the militants’ possession.

Police have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation for the injured militants.
